  • I was born in California and have lived in various places in the US, Australia, and England until 2006 when I moved to the Tayside area of Fife. From a young age I was fascinated with the intricacies of growth and development, both of people and of the life I saw around me. This led me to study Genetics at U.C. Berkeley. From there I pursued a very satisfying and rewarding career as a research scientist. Eventually, I decided to pursue another fascination, not unrelated to the workings of the world, but this time through the eyes of the Ancient Chinese and studied acupuncture and moxibustion.

Today I seek to use my knowledge, skill, and intuition to help people reach the state of inner harmony that we all deserve and from where we function at our best. Achieving harmony helps us to interact seamlessly with the world around us physically, mentally and ‘spiritually’. The most powerful tools I have found to achieve this aim are Five Element Acupuncture, BodyTalk, and tennents from Constellation Therapy. The emphasis of my practice is to help people work through their symptoms of dis-ease and to support them so they are better equipped to endure the stresses and strains of everyday life and thereby thrive instead of just survive.

My main interest lies in the ideas of inheritance of trauma (as supported by contemporary bioscience research into epigenetics). I am developing a way of working that uses acupuncture, and BodyTalk (added with added principles from Constellation Therapy and Nature Spirit Medicine), to help lessen the ties that can hold us within energetic patterns that adversely affect our health and wellbeing. I'm thrilled to have completed state of the art courses with Laura Stuve (of Quantum BodyTalk) in 2016 on the affects BodyTalk can have on the epigenetic legacy we all carry within our genetic functioning as well as how our Microbiome affects our health.

My BodyTalk career started in July, 2014 when I traveled to Ireland to learn BodyTalk Fundamentals from Lesley Mcintyre (a Dundee Native). I started to utilise BodyTalk more and more and developed my skill in it until I gained enough proficiency to become a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner in June, 2015. I also completed the BodyTalk Access course in November, 2014, Advanced BodyTalk Procedures in January, 2016 and MindScape in May, 2016.

In November, 2014 I studied Auricular Acupuncture with Jim Chalmers who teaches Auricular from the European tradition utilising the vascular autonomic signal (VAS) to find the my relevant points on the ear to engender the best changes.

In September of 2013 I completed the Tending Shen Five Element Acupuncture Graduate Program run by Niki Bilton, Dean of the Ongiara College of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Ontario. This two year programme is designed for practitioners who wish to significantly deepen their understanding and application of the theory and practice of the breadth of Five Element Acupuncture. The programme strengthened my already strong knowledge base in this fantastic form of medicine. In June 2009, I completed a year in the Postgraduate CF-EA (Classical Five-Element Acupuncture) Excellence program at the London Institute of Five Element Acupuncture (LIFEA).

Prior to this programme, I trained for three years at the School of Five Element Acupuncture in London under the tutelage of Nora Franglen, who passed on the tradition as she learned it from JR Worsley. Through this training I obtained a Licentiate in Acupuncture. This qualification is recognised by the British Acupuncture Council and allows me membership in the council (MBAcC is the acronym for membership).

    ‘Our Credo’

We believe that everybody wants their life to have meaning.

We believe that there is a pattern to our lives that weaves us into the web of the universe.

We believe that it is our lifetime’s purpose to discover what that unique pattern is so that our life may gain meaning within the context of all that is.

We believe that, if we fail to find our unique purpose, our life becomes meaningless and empty, and we die unfulfilled.

We believe there are many roads to self-discovery. Five Element acupuncture is one of them.
